Last Friday, March 21, 2008, eight international airlines raised their fuel surcharges to Europe. The most expensive add on fuel surcharge today is to England at an extra $242 roundtrip. Germany still offers the lowest fuel surcharges at $190 roundtrip.
Most other European destinations are $230 roundtrip. The only two holdouts as of Friday were Continental Airlines and US Airways. On Saturday, March 22, 2008, both of these airlines elected to raise their fuel surcharges by $20 roundtrip.
Travelers wishing to fly to Europe this Spring and especially
June, July and August will pay much more. Higher airfares, higher fuel
surcharges and a much higher Euro.
We still suggest flying to Europe this Spring over Summer,
because Summer airfares are almost double the Spring Airfares.
