Southwest is No Lemon No More and $100,000 richer.
Effective October 1, 2009, Southwest Airlines has decided to discontinue serving lemons on their flights.
Just like American Airlines did in 1987, they were able to saved $40,000 by eliminating one olive from each salad served in first class.
Southwest spokesman responded saying:
"At the end of our 3,200 daily flights, we found an excess of lemons and needless waste," Southwest spokesman Brad Hawkins told The Dallas Morning News.
"It not only reduces waste, but we're going to save $100,000 annually," Hawkins said.
