Continental Airlines has seen a major reduction in the number of
passengers checking two bags. Since the new $25 fee has been imposed,
Continental Airlines has seen a 60% reduction in checked 2nd bags.

The good news is Continental Airlines saves money on fuel
without the extra weight on the plane. Plus, with less bags being checked, that
almost means they don't have to pay extra for mishandled bags which they may
have lost in the past.
The bad news is overhead spaces in these tin cans in the sky is
becoming very scarce. Be sure to board early. If the airline has no overhead
space, you will need to check it at the gate.
